people are jerks ^_^

People really suck.
Don't you think? Maybe one out of a hundred are actually worth talking to. What's your opinion?

People are products of their conditioning. I've learned alot about human nature and how the ego mind is programed from “jerks”. I don't think I've ever met someone I wasn't able to learn something from.
Well, one out of eleven people that viewed this took the time to comment.
Of course it is from someone with an impossible return address.
I like the part about never meeting some one without being able to learn from them.
I learn things from rocks and bugs too, but i don't call them jerks. People can overcome their condition, and despite what the awareness industry sells us, people overcome conditioning all the time–without much help. that is why i think people are jerks, because they can behave otherwise and they don't. I can't even say that they Choose to be jerks because choice would indicate some thought or purpose. instead –we just exist– and surround ourselves with pretty little slogans and concepts that reinforce that indolence.

hmm, I was thinking of the “choice” aspect, and that you could do a paraphrase of the ”Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them”. - (Act II, Scene V, Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare)
but you wrote this blog two days ago. Perhaps your feelings have changed by now?
It's true Nicole, Some of us do have 'jerkiness' thrust upon us. I think of all the people i have known in petty middle management jobs. when i found myself in a similar petty managing job, I too was a jerk, despite my efforts to be seen as something else.

BTW I was having a very nice day, with several wonderful conversations and happy meetings. i'm not sure why i started this thread.

that's a good point, something to remember when we are dealing with one of those people, that “jerkiness” can be against one's will…
fascinating, isn't it, when things pop up like this in the middle of an otherwise good day?
