A rose unfolds: thought for the day.

The beauty of the rose is not seen
in perfect symmetry,
nor in her crimson color.
She reveals her truth
opening as a tender bud
then shedding all
her garments
one by one.
As her petals fall
we glimpse the echo
of our lives, and catch
the lingering scent
of what we are.
in perfect symmetry,
nor in her crimson color.
She reveals her truth
opening as a tender bud
then shedding all
her garments
one by one.
As her petals fall
we glimpse the echo
of our lives, and catch
the lingering scent
of what we are.

Help

As autumn comes and the roses stop blooming we have the rose hips, full of seeds and new beginnings. A few days ago I brought a beautiful burgundy rose inside as a frost was threatening - I was trying to preserve the beauty of the rose - I placed it alongside me so I could smell the perfume while I was seated at the computer. My mum visited and looked at the rose, I lifted the vase and the petals fell, I felt sad at this as I wouldn't smell the fragrance. I dried the petals in the sunny window - they didn't smell the same when dried, they had a slightly different perfume and colour which had a beauty all of its own.
The season of summer will bring more roses and more intense fragrance and more beauty, I just have to be patient and rest a while until the cycle moves around once more.
Thank you for your thought for the day sherab
