Do you think our culture is progressing or declining?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 20, 2007:
Neither. The question assumes that the readers belong to the same culture and that progress or decline are terms which have any validity in describing something like culture.
The dualism of the question bothers me the most. Why not ask what direction Is our culture moving. What are some trends you see emerging in your culture or affinity group.
If Zaadz represents the progressive edge of 'our' culture, then dualistic thinking must be a progressive value We can add to that discrimination, segregation and separation. Is that progressive? well if so then "we" are very progressive.
