I registered for the draft, back in the same year that I voted for Jimmy Carter. And as far as I know, no one In the US armed services was drafted into Iraq. All of those men and women signed up to be soldiers. It was their choice. I know that some people – many in fact – signed up because of economic hardship, but they did have some degree of choice, and they have the same rights to vote and write to their representatives, contribute to political action comities, just as the rest of us do. Many of us object to elective wars like Iraq.
Shouldn't we have a choice about how our taxes are spent?
